He Escapes

Yes, the latest is Crockett get a call from one of our neighbors that he thinks he has our horse! He caught Beau running down the street looking for Lincoln I would think. Supposedly we found out, he leaned on the fencing of his corral, which pressured the part that was previously mended. He then got to a part of the fnce line that ad a hole in it. I will know more when Crockett returns.

Went on morning four-wheel ride around 8:30 am, saw baby doe. I'm sure mama was not far off. Beau can't stop whinning since his old pal Lincoln left. Got a lot accomplished this weekend. Off to family function then home.

Was minutes from a spotting. She did some snorting, Crockett came by with some beers. Said, I'll show you some deer. We headed on the trail, me first. Up ahead we stopped. He said didn't you hear me calling Hey? I said no. He said you missed her heading off in the woods. What! Unbelievable.

Crockett goes out with our dogs and sees five deer at two different food plots. I'm sitting here bound and determined to see something.
They're in!

Brook, which one do you want?

My Baby Is Off to School

Lincoln is off to ediquette school for two weeks. The guy said he'll be wanting to come home after some time with him. So sad, can't wait to see the new and improved horse.

Sittin' in the stand cut short due to rain. Hooray rain!

Thought I'd take a chance and sit in a deerstand for the fun of it. Took Brook with me. She's terrified. Tree is swaying. Little thunder in the back drop. She's not sure if she's going to get struck by lightning or falling out from a tree.
They're in and beautiful!

My Winner for Five Bucks, Take A Look!

Congrats Julie, you are my first five bucks winner!
Lincoln was going crazy in the corral. Thought Crockett was chasing him. He didn't like that Beau was out getting a bath. Tried to get Lincoln with the lead, wouldn't let me get close. So I ran him. He was beautiful like a Wild Mustang the way he was running. Finaly he got tired out. I got close enough to him, grabbed his halter, hooked on. Bingo! It worked. I think we're finally understanding each other.

Needless to say, didn't do much outside. If you didn't know by now, I contracted Poison Oak. Why Poison Oak, b/c I had Poison Ivy last year and it looks nothing like it. Looks like I have burns and it itches like the dickens!

Julie, you were the first to answer with Poison something, so five bucks are coming your way!

My son, Aaron, should've named him Paul Bunyan. Look at his feet!

Ended the weekend on a positive. Crockett tired the horses out and took out Beau. I attempted to put a lead on Lincoln. With patience, I got a lead on Lincoln. Crockett was shocked and so was I. After a bit, we tried to get him up to the barn for a bath, so was not happening. We thought just getting his lead on was a good thing. Later,
Crockett filled the deer feeders, then I set the timer for one feeding and set up cameras.

Breakfast in bed by Crockett. What a guy.

Unsure about our purchase of Lincoln. He is very spooked at everything. Unlike Beau, when you walk up to him he walks the other way. When you call him, nothing. He walks away when you try to pet him, almost annoyed. He sometimes jumps from your hand and HATES when you walk on the left side of him. We think maybe he's blind in that eye. He was a working ranch horse, and we think he was somewhat abused. I love him, but so worried one of the kids will get hurt. I want this to workout, but if he doesn't warm up we might have to send him back. Believe me I don't want to. If anyone has any good suggestions, I would appreciate them.

First time ever, in my life, to gut a fish! We had our first fish fry at the ranch with our own lake fish. Plenty of Bass and Perch to be cooked. Crockett made the best fried fish. The kiddos loved it!

Look what I caught! Alright, I only caught three, but a big three with a spinner bait.

Kids enjoying a Saturday night @ the cabin.
Got home from dinner. Crockett calls me to the woods outside the cabin. We listen to a strange sound. I went and got the spot light. It was a small, adorable owl. Didn't take pic with phone, to amazing to take a poor cell pic Will post camera pic when I get home.
Well, they finally arrived. It was awesome. Lincoln is as stubborn as a mule! Beau, easy. Crockett washed him and got a saddle on him. Hours later, a good rainfall, the Lincoln did four full rollovers too cute. Most of the kids are a bit scared of their size. Aaron, my 15 year old, took right to it. The horses love their new corral. Can't wait to play with them tomorrow.

Finally, our babies are coming

Finally, our babies are coming home within the hour!

Horses were a no show. Delivery people had trouble with trailer. Hopefully tomorrow. Changed cam batteries amd started new puzzle. Someone cut our brand new fence line to get on property. So violated.

Long Weekend at Broken Road

Come visit us at Broken Road this weekend and see Beau and Lincoln arrive at their new home! They should be here ate afternoon!
